Gold Coast Mayhem: Behind the Scenes of the Mad Hueys Music Video
Right, so the Mad Hueys track was finally done. Mixed, mastered, ready to drop. But one major task remained: the music video. And that, my friends, meant a trip to the glorious Gold Coast. I'd been holed up in Sydney recording at my studio, so off to the Gold Coast we went! This time, it wasn’t just recording; we were filming on location. And let me tell you, that meant even more mayhem than usual.
I arrived on the Gold Coast, and Dean Hazza was there to lead the welcome, along with the rest of the Mad Hueys crew. Great Northerns all round, and we were ready to start filming.
Then, bam! A torrential downpour hit the Gold Coast. Seriously, the heavens opened! We exchanged worried glances – the weather looked grim, and we weren't sure if we'd be able to shoot the next day. Thankfully, the storm passed as quickly as it arrived, and the sun peeked through. It felt like the Gold Coast was giving us a dramatic introduction, testing our resolve.
The next day, the Gold Coast sun was beating down – you know that intense Aussie sun – and we got to work. Jeff Levingston expertly led the film production, and it was a smooth and efficient process. Stunning beaches, awesome boats, and some seriously epic shots made for a perfect setting. We collaborated brilliantly, using a mix of drones, GoPros, and top-of-the-line Sony cameras to get every shot perfectly. It was a truly collaborative effort, brimming with creativity and good humour from start to finish.
Now, between takes… things got interesting. Let's just say the Mad Hueys aren't known for their temperance. The Great Northerns flowed freely. Post-video, things got a whole lot wilder. Dean's mates know how to party, let me tell you. I attempted to keep up with their drinking game, but it's a tough one to win! Even Hazza found time for a few sneaky wedges.
The whole experience? Bonkers! A wild mix of creative energy, stunning scenery, and pure, unadulterated chaos. But the final video? Absolutely worth every minute. We nailed it! Massive thanks to Jeff Levingston and everyone else involved – you all made it look effortless.
Let's just say, Dean Hazza's stamina is legendary. And filming on a boat? It's best to be fully alert. Let this be a lesson: always be mindful and stay safe when working on a big project like this.
